In 1993, a small group of San Francisco Bay Area flamenco guitar students formed a band called "Ritmos de Flamenco." This group evolved into a quartet whose musical visions stretch across the vast realms of Eurasia and beyond. Inspired by the ancient trade route that linked the Mediterranean with the Far East, the quartet called themselves SILK ROAD.

Although strongly rooted in their flamenco backgrounds, SILK ROAD has traveled far beyond the confines of Andalucian music -- and has tastefully incorporated styles from around the world into their own compositions.

The music of SILK ROAD is universal and from the heart.
